Logan City may soon be getting rid of some of the property it owns. Mayor Craig Petersen told the municipal council Tuesday that an analysis is being done to determine what property is of continued value to the city as public property and what property is not.
“A couple of the criteria that we would look at is the value in the private sector but also the maintenance,” Petersen explained. “In some cases we’ve got small pieces of property that don’t serve any real function but we’re having to maintain them.
“So we don’t have any decisions on which properties we might sell, but at least we have an analysis on them which will give some guidance on that.”
The Mayor said an example is on 200 East where the city purchased some properties in order to widen the street.
