A 1999 Green Ford Explorer that rolled multiple times after a tire blew, killing 58-year-old Maria Morfin Arreola.

A single vehicle rollover Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 near Riverside, killed a 58-year-old Ogden woman.

Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) report Maria Morfin Arreola was driving a 1999 Green Ford Explorer, traveling northbound on I-15, when the rear passenger side tire blew, just before the 385 exit.

The blowout caused the Explorer to swerve left going into the median, rolling three times before coming to a rest on it’s wheels.

UHP said Arreola was wearing a seatbelt but suffered severe head trauma when the roof of the Explorer was crushed during the accident. She was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton where she died from her injuries.

The accident occurred around 8:24 a.m. There were no other vehicles involved.
