The second year for Cache Theatre Company’s popular annual “Wild West Shakespeare” opens Wednesday when the musical comedy A Whole Lotta Fussin’ over Nothin is presented outside the Old Rock Church in Providence. It continues each night through Saturday at 7 p.m. with a matinee Saturday at 2 p.m.
David Sidwell is directing the show and his wife Marianne Sidwell wrote the music. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday, Marianne said the production is based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and it is a lot of fun.
“In both the show last year, in Romeo and Juliet, and this year there are references to local towns, to Corinne, to Ogden or Mantua.”
Last year the company produced Romeo and Juliet: The Musical Comedy and Sidwell said her husband has already written the adapted script for Hamlet for next year.
