Original Batmobile painting being auctioned at Cruise-In for local charity

This painting of the 1960s Batmobile will be auctioned off at the Cache Valley Cruise-In Friday and Saturday, July 4 and 5. The original painting was done by Jonathan Ribera and 100% of the proceeds will go to Options for Independence.

DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA BATMAN! Baby boomers all remember the great 1966 Batman TV program with Adam West and Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo. Now they have a chance to get their own Batmobile.

KOOL 103.9 will be auctioning off an original painting of the 1960s classic Batmobile by Jonathan Ribera at this year’s Cache Valley Cruise-In. Silent bids will be accepted on the painting Friday and Saturday at the Cache County Fairgrounds and 100% the money is going to Options for Independence. Cruise-In attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase 11×14 prints of the painting.

Dave Denton, program director of KOOL 103.9, says, “the great thing about this is that it is all tax deductible and all the money raised will go to Options for Independence. The station will be broadcasting from the Cruise-In on Friday and Saturday on the concourse next to J.C. Hackett’s oldies booth. The original painting will be on display for you to look at and purchase a print.”

Denton adds that Ribera’s art work is done with spray cans and is called RATTLE CAN ART.

“I am a huge fan of his work and own several prints that he sold at last years Comic-Con in Salt Lake City,” Denton explains. “Johathan Ribera is well know in Cache Valley and has taught art at several schools. I think he found a great niche to fill with the Super Hero art he does.”

The art piece is an original, one-of-a-kind work with a limited amount of 11×14 prints on sale this Friday and Saturday.
