LOGAN — Cache County Search and Rescue were called to Green Canyon early Friday morning, after a teenage boy fell and was injured.

Sheriff’s Lt. Doyle Peck said the boy was hiking on the south side of the canyon, near the large camping site, a quarter-mile up Green Canyon Dr. east of North Logan. The area is steep with slick shale which caused the boy to slip and fall.

Peck said the boy broke his wrist and dislocated a shoulder. He was found by members of his party, including his father. They attempted to move the boy but were unable to because of the steep terrain.

Search and Rescue crews were called in to help assist the boy off the side of the canyon.

Using ropes, the boy was lowered off the side of the canyon and taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Peck said the accident was reported at 8:24 a.m. There were no other injuries.
