There are three races to be decided at the Cache County Republican Primary election which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24. Early voting has already begun for the races.
County Clerk Jill Zollinger said they are the offices of County Treasurer, County Assessor and County Executive. On KVNU’s Crosstalk program Wednesday, Zollinger said voters are required to be a member of the Republican Party in order to vote.
“That means that if someone is unaffiliated they can affiliate with the Republican Party. Those who are already affiliated with the party will be able to come in and vote,” explained Zollinger. “Those that need to affiliate will just need to fill out an affiliation form. That’s very easy to do. They just need to fill out a few spaces and signing that they are willing to affiliate.”
Boyd Pugmire and Craig Buttars are running for County Executive, Craig McAllister and Denise Lindsay are the candidates for County Treasurer and Bradley White will try to unseat incumbent County Recorder Michael Gleed.
Zollinger said early voting continues through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and then Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Voting starts again Monday, June 16 and continues through Thursday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On Friday, June 20 the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early voting takes place in the Cache County Clerk’s office.
