LOGAN—The Logan Trails Festival will kick-off the summer season on Saturday, June 21, 2104 from 10:00am to 1:00pm MST at the Merlin Olsen Central Park (300 East Center Street) in Logan, Utah.

The Logan Trails Festival sponsored by the Logan Downtown Alliance in cooperation with Logan City Parks & Recreation Department, Logan City Police Department, and the Utah Department of Public Safety, is looking forward to everyone enjoying the Logan City Urban Trails and promoting safe outdoor recreation. And a special focus of the festival will be centered on the completion of the pedestrian tunnel under Center Street connecting several popular trails to downtown Logan.

The Logan Trails Festival will feature 4 outdoor activities:

The final leg of the Road Respect Tour will start and finish a 65 mile bicycle ride at the Merlin Olsen Central Park. The purpose of this activity is to promote Utah Department of Public Safety’s “Zero Fatalities” and “Road Respect: Cars and Bikes Rules to Live By” educational campaigns.

The Navy Seal 1.5 Mile Challenge will use the new pedestrian tunnel, Boulevard Trail and Canyon Road as its race course for this exciting running event. This race is an introduction to the Summer of Seals Challenge occurring in August 2014.

A Bike Rodeo, hosted by the Logan City Police, will take place on 300 East between Center Street and 100 South. This activity will help prepare children and youth to enjoy safe cycling by offering a bicycle safety check, helmet inspection, and riding skills course.

A 5.5 Mile Family Fun Bike Ride will start and finish at the Merlin Olsen Central Park. The purpose of this activity is to encourage families and children to get out and ride together and practice safe bicycle riding behavior.
