Man sentenced to jail for downloading child porn

Brian Judd, 30, of Logan, sentenced to 210 days in the Cache County Jail, after pleading guilty to downloading child pornography.

LOGAN — A 30-year-old Logan man has been sentenced to 210 days in the Cache County Jail, after pleading guilty to downloading child pornography.

Monday, Brian Judd was in 1st District Court to be sentenced to one count of sexual exploitation of a child, a second-degree felony.

Judd told Judge Thomas Willmore that downloading child pornography was the worst decision he’d ever made in life.

“I have destroyed my family name,” said Judd. “I have put my wife through the worst terrible pain. I don’t know if I’ll ever be viewed as anyone but a sex offender.”

Judge Willmore said the file names of the material Judd had downloaded was so vile, he didn’t want to repeat them in the courtroom.

Judd was originally arrested in January 2013 and charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Under a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to one count on March 31, 2014 and had the other nine charges dropped.

Judge Willmore said he would allow Judd to be given work-release while serving his sentence. He also ordered him to complete sex offender therapy and have no contact with children.
