Registration begins this week for locals and visitors participating in Summer Citizens

Hundreds of visitors age 55 and over are arriving in Logan this week as part of the annual Summer Citizen program. Director Linda D’Addabbo said the visitors come from several states because they love the climate, the people, the beauty and the offerings of Cache Valley, including the cultural events.

She said some people don’t realize that local seniors are also invited to be part of the program and the same discounts are given to local seniors on classes, facilities and events.

“They can go into the Merrill-Cazier Library, which is a phenomenal resource and library to do electronic media,” D’Addabbo said on KVNU’s Crosstalk program Monday. “They can check that out.

“They can check out books, read the periodicals, and of course (enjoy) marvelous dining on campus.”

D’Addabbo said registration for everyone, both locals and visitors, is Thursday, May 15. For more information, call 797-2028.
