Police arrest two suspects in pawn shop robbery

Cody Naser, 27, charged with 11 counts of theft, a second-degree felony and one count of burglary, a third-degree felony.

LOGAN — Police have arrested two men and recovered several handguns believed to have been stolen from Fast Cache Pawn back in February.

Logan City Police Chief Gary Jensen said Cody Naser, 27, and Tyler Jenson, 24, have been arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail. They are being charged with 11 counts of theft, a second-degree felony and one count of burglary, a third-degree felony.

The two are suspected of forcing entry into the pawn shop at 527 South Main St. early February 8. They stole several handguns from the store and were caught on video surveillance cameras.

Jensen said a $5000 reward offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) produced several leads that helped investigators identify the two suspects.

On April 29, agents with the ATF and Cache Rich Drug Task Force served a narcotics warrant in Providence and arrested Naser. They learned that the stolen handguns had been discarded in the Bear River near Amalga.

Jensen said on May 5, the Utah State Dive Team and the Cache County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue recovered the firearms in the river.

Police Captain Tyson Budge said investigators believe Naser and Jenson discarded the handguns after a reward was offered. The guns were found in plastic bags but were ruined.

Jenson was arrested later that day. He is currently being held in the Cache County Jail on a $25,000 bail.

Naser is also still being held in jail on a $115,000 bail.
