Annual Scrabble tournament raises funds for local literacy

It’s a fundraising event for Bridgerland Literacy and the Scrabble Scramble is coming up on Friday, March 21 at the Coppermill Restaurant.

On KVNU’s Crosstalk program Wednesday, board member Jane Nicholson said it is challenging, it is fun and it helps raise money for people needing help with reading.

She invited everyone to participate in the annual competition of words.

“I think there are three small competitions and then we also have a silent auction that goes on at the same time that the main event is going on,” Nicholson said. “We have some wonderful prizes that local businesses have generously donated.

“I feel kind of excited about that. And you get to have a light dinner. There will be sort of a snack plate with two Hors d’oeuvres and a desert.”

Nicholson said people register individually or as a team by calling 435-750-3262.
