Mount Logan Middle School planning 50th birthday party

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>LOGAN – The Mt. Logan Middle School is seeking MLMS Mountaineer memorabilia to display during its upcoming Birthday Celebration Week in March, especially items from the 1960s including yearbooks, photos, report cards, and outfits worn for activities as band, PE, sports and cheerleading.</span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“We are actually celebrating the 50th year of the building that houses the Mt. Logan Middle School,” said Mike Monson, Principal. “The first studentbody moved into the current building for the 1963-64 school year. That was because the previous building on 100 East near 200 North was affected by the 1962 earthquake.</span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“It’s been 50 years and it is still in great shape and it is a beautiful facility, it has been well-maintained.”</span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>He said everybody is invited to come back and see the school as it currently is. </span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>The focal point of the week is Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, an event that will include speakers, musical presentations and video presentations.</span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>At various points during the celebration week there will be a marbles competition at lunch one day as well as yo-yo and hula-hoop competitions.</span></p>

<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“It is always nice to have a connection with the community and that’s why we hope people will attend,” said Principal Monson.</span></p>
