Lincoln artifacts will highlight Cache Republicans’ Lincoln Day Dinner

People will know a lot about Abraham Lincoln that they may not have known before after the Cache County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday, February 21.

Lincoln Club cochair Yvonne Roderick says the keynote speaker is former Logan resident Bryan Andreason, former director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. She says the dinner starts at 7 p.m. at the Riverwoods Conference Center and there is a 6 p.m. reception with elected officials.

During that time Dr. Robert Young will share some of his Lincoln artifacts,

including a lock of Lincoln’s hair and a replica of his rocking chair.

“We have some busts of the president that he has and signatures of his,” Roderick explains, “as well as a case that he is still on the books in Illinois that when he was an attorney set a standard and set the precedent about a dying horse.”

Roderick says invited guests include Governor Gary Herbert, U.S. Senators Mike Lee and Orrin Hatch and Congressman Rob Bishop. Call 232-9823 for reservations and information about the dinner.
