Sections of Interstate-15 (I-15) near Brigham City will be closed Monday night and Tuesday. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) says the closures are to help with construction of a new bridge.
Crews will close I-15 southbound and I-15 northbound around the 1100 South interchange while they set girders for the new bridge.
UDOT says I-15 southbound will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday. Once the girders are set on the southbound side of the bridge, they will open those lanes and close I-15 northbound. The project is expected to be completed Tuesday afternoon by 2 p.m.
UDOT says only one direction of traffic will be closed at a time. Signs and the Utah Highway Patrol will direct traffic through the on- and off-ramps around the interchange work.
During the closure, UDOT is recommending motorists use US-89 as an alternative.
