State Senator Todd Weiler, R-District 23, said he wants clean air and for that reason he was glad to learn that the polluting business Stericycle is moving away from his district into the Tooele area.
On <a href=”http://610kvnu.com/assets/podcaster/324/2014_01_30_324_18513_2867.mp3″ target=”_blank”>KVNU’s For the People program Wednesday</a>, Weiler said many of his constituents that still is not enough.
“They’re a business. They’re licensed. They perform a valuable service. Yes, they pollute the air. They also employ 52 people and Tooele wants them. They were there first and a neighborhood grew up around them. It’s one of those emotional issues where people have knee-jerk reactions.”
Weiler said, unfortunately, there are several other polluting industries in his district.
