Second auto-pedestrian accident in two days

LOGAN – A second auto-pedestrian accident occurred Wednesday night in Logan. This time a man was crossing Main Street, in the middle of the block, near 450 South.

The accident occurred at 7:10 p.m. Logan City Police Corporal Ryan Blau said the man was struck by an SUV that was traveling south.

Blau said the man was bleeding from his head when emergency crews arrived. He was transported to Logan Regional Hospital.

Blau reports the man was crossing in the middle of the block and was not in a crosswalk. Witnesses told police that the man with someone when the accident occurred but police were unable to find that person Wednesday night. An investigation into the accident is continuing.

The accident happened just two days after another auto-pedestrian accident in Logan at the intersection of 400 North 200 East.

The man in that accident, Tarique Fasih Zaman, was taken to Logan Regional Hospital and then flown to McKay Dee Hospital. He is now listed in fair condition.
