LOGAN – Cache County Sheriffs have arrested an 18-year-old male in connection with a fatal accident, 2-weeks-ago, that killed Duane Labrum of Hyrum.
Emiliano Guereca was booked into the Cache County Jail Monday afternoon. He’s being charged with automobile homicide and driving under the influence. Both are third-degree felonies. He is also being charged with three misdemeanors, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and improper passing of a vehicle.
Guereca’s arrest is connected to an accident that occurred just after 7:00 a.m., November 6, 2013.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, Guereca was driving on 1200 West between Nibley and Hyrum. He attempted to pass another vehicle, clipping it, and then hitting a third vehicle head-on, driven by Labrum.
Labrum was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident was being investigated by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office and the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Guereca will be arraigned in first-district-court Thursday. Bond has been set for $11,216.
