Armed robbery in Honeyville

A convenience store in Honeyville was robbed Friday night. Box Elder County Sheriff Chief Deputy, Kevin Potter said the robbery occurred at Lainie’s Country Store, 6690 North Highway 38.

According to Potter, a man approached the clerk, brandished a pistol and demanded money. The clerk complied and gave the man the money from the cash register.

The suspect then fled the store in a blue passenger car. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 25 to 35 years of age. He had shaggy brown hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Deputies from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s department and Utah Highway Patrol responded to the robbery. There were no reports of any injury to the cashier and the amount of money stolen has not been released.

The case has been turned over to Box Elder County Sheriff’s detectives for investigation.
