Pi Kappa Alpha will run game ball to Romney Stadium for breast cancer awareness

LOGAN – Before the Aggies compete with BYU on Merlin Olsen Field, members of Pi Kappa Alpha’s Gamma Epsilon Chapter at Utah State University will run the official game ball from Logan Regional Hospital to Romney Stadium. The relay run will take off from the hospital at 5 pm.

“We’ll relay it down to Main Street, over to 4th North, and then up to the stadium,” explained Pike Philanthropy Chair Nathan Salisbury. “We’ve got a bunch of big companies to sponsor this run. All the money we raised will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation down in Salt Lake. They’re a non-profit breast cancer research group.”

Salisbury said this is the first time the fraternity has planned a game ball run and he wants to see it grow in the future. Next year, they hope to also organize a 5k and donate all the money to breast cancer research.

This event kicks off a week filled with fundraisers put on by Pi Kappa Alpha known as Pike Fest.

Today’s runners will all be wearing pink t-shirts that say, “Pike Fest. Save a Breast.” Those shirts will also be sold prior to the game at the fraternity’s tailgate event. T-shirt cost is $8.
