Utah Senator Mike Lee wants Senate Republicans to block a bill passed by the House of Representatives to keep the government running while defunding the Affordable Care Act, often referred to as ObamaCare.
Meanwhile, Utah Congressman Rob Bishop, R-District 1, says there are parts of ObamaCare that go into effect without the need to be funded.
“Defunding ObamaCare is good, it’s a step,” Rep. Bishop says, “but ultimately it has to be repealed and replaced because too much of it goes into effect.
“Whether the government shuts down or not, whether it’s funded or not, it will still go forward with a lot of elements that don’t require funding, they’re just mandates. Ultimately I want to see the entire thing repealed and replaced, not just defunded.”
But <a href=”http://610kvnu.com/assets/podcaster/328/2013_09_03_328_13986_2867.mp3″ target=”_blank”>Rep. Bishop told KVNU</a> there is nothing wrong with doing all you can, even if it only means slowing the process down.
