Logan LDS temple shuts down after water line break

LOGAN – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple has been closed as of 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Logan City Public Works was replacing a water line near the temple when the main line broke. According to Temple President Ward Taylor, the city shut down water to the neighborhood while the line is being fixed.

“The temple is closed for the remainder of the day but we fully expect to be open first thing tomorrow morning,” Pres. Taylor said.

The water line break did not cause any damage to the temple or its grounds, nor did it facilitate any evacuations.

“We didn’t start anything new at the temple,” Pres. Taylor continued, “we let people finish what they were doing and have been shutting it down.”

There were some weddings and other events that were scheduled for Thursday afternoon and evening. All of those have been able to be rescheduled.
