The Box Elder Bees got off to a hot start and the only defense that could stop them was a 35 minute weather delay. Even that, though, still didn’t dim a dominating 55-28 victory over rival Bear River.
The Bees only had to punt once during the game, and their defense had two very impressive goal line stands. Shad Watson was the leader of the Box Elder offense, accounting for five touchdowns (three rushing, two passing).
Bear River was plagued by the injury bug losing standout running back Jeremy Selmon early in the game. His return for next week is questionable. The Bears will try to rebound against Tooele who won their first game Friday beating Canyon View 34-9. That game will be next Friday at 7 p.m. and broadcast on 104.9 FM.
