A Lewiston teenager was sent to the hospital Wednesday, after he was hit by a semi-truck. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Phil Rawlinson said the teenager was driving an ATV, eastbound on Center Street in Lewiston. The accident occurred when he pulled in front of a semi-truck, who was also traveling eastbound.
Rawlinson said it appeared the teenager was slowing down to turn left and failed to signal. The semi-truck was attempting to pass the slowing ATV, when the teenager tried to turn and the two vehicles collided.
The teenager was thrown from the ATV. He was transported by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
