A lot of people were in historic downtown Logan for the three-day Dowtown Sidewalk sale last week. Gary Saxton, downtown manager for the Logan Downtown Alliance, says he feels people agree there have been numerous improvements that are helping downtown become a more vibrant place to visit and to shop.
“We’re trying to improve parking. We’re trying to improve landscaping, beautification,” Saxton says. “You can see sidewalks have gone in down between 300 South and 200 South. We’re trying to keep the businesses sustainable and active.”
He says there will soon be a wayfinding system of signs in place to help direct people to the various places to go in downtown Logan.
Saxton encourages Logan residents to attend a meeting Wednesday where various scenarios for one-way couplets could help decrease traffic congestion in downtown Logan. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers of Logan City Hall.
