Something for everyone at Lewiston’s 4th of July celebration

There will be two rodeos at this year's Lewiston celebration.

There will be two rodeos this year at Lewiston’s annual 4th of July celebration. The first starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 and another at noon on Thursday.

Lewiston Mayor Kelly Fields invites everyone in Cache Valley and beyond to celebrate Independence Day in Lewiston where the popular parade begins at 9:15 a.m.

After the parade, there is a festival and entertainment in the park, quilt and art show, and the rodeo, complete with horse races at noon.

“And then another event that’s become real popular the last few years is the Wells Jackson Memorial Horse Pull and that’s at 6:30,” said Mayor Fields. “We have real nice seating at the rodeo grounds. It’s covered and it’s usually packed. The horse pulls are a lot of fun.”

The Mayor says there are $2 movies at the Lewiston theatre at noon and 7 p.m. The city’s famous fireworks will launch at dusk from the rodeo grounds.
