Celebration activities are already underway for Hyrum City’s Star Spangled 4th of July celebration. On Saturday there will be a youth parade at 10:30 a.m. followed by a fireman’s water fight.
A patriotic program on City Square is scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m. There’s a full day Thursday, July 4 starting with the Blacksmith Fork Freedom Run 15K at 7 a.m.
The Lions Club chuckwagon breakfast is from 7 to 10 a.m. at the pavilion on city square and the traditional flag ceremony is at 8 a.m. followed by the Main Street Mile.
Hyrum’s big parade is at 12 noon on Main Street beginnng at 600 East Main and turning north at 200 West to 200 North. After the parade there will be booths and entertainment on city square along with free watermelon. Fireworks start at dusk at the Hyrum soccer fields and before that fom 8 to 10 p.m. there is music by 8-Track Mind. A youth dance at Elite Hall will start when the fireworks are over.
