LOGAN — A 32-year-old man was killed in a vehicle rollover Monday night, near 1500 North 1450 East in Logan. Jacob Bradley Sorenson was driving a blue 2006 Subaru Legacy Outback, west bound on 1500 North, when he failed to turn and lost control of the vehicle. Logan Assistant Police Chief, Jeff Curtis said they believe Sorenson was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove down the hillside.

Curtis said it appears the vehicle rolled multiple times. Sorenson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. His body was located 100 feet from the vehicle. Medical personnel responded to the accident and pronounced Sorenson dead at the scene.

Police notified the family, who confirmed that Sorenson was the only one in the vehicle, at the time of the accident.

Curtis said speed was definitely a cause in the crash and investigators are trying to determine now if there were other factors.

“Anytime we have a fatal accident we investigate whether alcohol or drugs were involved,” said Curtis. “We have located Sorenson’s cell phone and will be looking if it was being used at the time of the accident.”

Investigators were back at the scene Tuesday morning looking for debris and further evidence.
