Gov. Herbert to improve Utah Clean Air Act

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Gov. Gary Herbert is revamping the Utah Clean Air Partnership. He plans to make the government entity an independent organization instead.

The mission of the Utah Clean Air Partnership is to uniting people around ways to reduce smog.

The organization also doles out grants and loans to businesses and communities that want to help reducing emissions.

Herbert will explain the changes at a news conference set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at West Valley’s city hall.
