In two previous meetings this season, the Logan Royals had outscored the Smithfield Blue Sox 20-8.
Not this time.
The Blue Sox took it to the Royals in convincing fashion with an 11-1 win Tuesday, handing Logan it’s first loss of the season.
Jordan Hansen hit a 2-run home run and seven different Smithfield players recorded an RBI as the Blue Sox used a 7-run first inning to seize control early and never looked back.
Smithfield improved to 3-3 overall this season, while Logan fell to 4-1. The Blue Sox hit the road to face Providence on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and Logan will host a double header against Hyrum on Saturday at 6 p.m.
