Royals crush Blue Sox

For the second time in as many meetings, the Logan Royals got the better of the Smithfield Blue Sox with a 13-3 shellacking on Thursday.

Logan started quickly with three runs on four hits in the first inning and never looked back. The Royals recorded runs in each of the first four innings to quickly build a 10-run lead and invoke the mercy rule after just five innings of play.

Six different Royals recorded at least one RBI, and Logan allowed just five hits in the five innings of play.

The win gave Logan a 2-0 record against the Blue Sox this season, after the Royals topped the Blue Sox 7-5 on Saturday at Worthington Park.
