Little Bloomsbury Art Show combines art, music, magic, and a wolf-dog

The Seventh Annual Little Bloomsbury Festival of Art, Music and Storytelling opens Thursday, April 25 and continues through Saturday, April 27 at 181 North 200 East. The founder and executive director of the Little Bloomsbury Foundation, Dr. Brenda C. Sun, said everyone is invited to attend and the theme this year is “Partakers of the Divine Nature.”

Kraus said it makes her feel good when others learn to understand and appreciate wolves and wolf-dogs.

“They are an amazing species to where they actually help with the survival of other species. A wolf kill by itself can feed ravens, it can help bears, coyotes, foxes and other scavengers.

“They also help with our populations like deer, elk. They help keep those species in check and make sure that if there are sick animals they cull the weak and the sick to help the vitality of the herd to be okay and to be strengthened.”

Sun said Habitat for Humanity is the foundation’s 2013 Official Community Service Partner. Habitat co-chair Duane Smith, of Zions Bank, has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for seven years.

“We build homes. We work on homes,” Smith said. “Habitat’s way of doing business is we work on people’s homes and build homes with highly-discounted materials and with labor supplied free of charge from thousands of people in Cache Valley. It’s just a wonderful place to live.”

Smith said each time Habitat for Humanity builds a home the chapter also builds a home in an African country. A home was recently completed in Hyrum and Smith said right now Habitat is working with Logan City on rehabilitating the interiors of several homes.

Sun said the Little Bloomsbury Festival of Art, Music and Storytelling will include a program each night at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday it is Magician Richard Cannon and Utah Storytelling Guild “Miracles” concert. Friday  the Imperial Glee Club and Pre-Centennial Concert and on Saturday the Idlewild Flute Gallery’s “Soul Searching Around the World” concert. For more information call 787-1303.
