Utah Chambers of Commerce criticise Senators for lack of immigration reform

LOGAN— The heads of eight of Utah’s Chambers of Commerce had criticism for Senators Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee over no immigration reform as yet. On KVNU’s For the People show Tuesday, local chamber leader Sandy Emile said in fairness to the politicians, they are truly under the gun on a lot of different issues.

“The current administration has given them more than their fair share of challenges to deal with right now, economically and nationally,” Emile said. “We put that in perspective, and giving them that leeway and grace, yes we are saying, ‘Please, we know you’ve been very cautious and conservative in your approach here – you’re looking to see what all the repercussions and ramifications are. But, surely after 20 years of looking at the issue, with all of your resources, there must be a way to move this forward.’”

Emile said the Chamber executives told the Senators they want to help and they are there to do just that.
