Mayor Watts to run for a third term

<strong>LOGAN —</strong> Logan City Mayor Randy Watts has announced he will run for a third term.  Watts said he has been thinking about running again, since the first of the year. He said he made the decision after considering several big projects that have been started around the community.  Watts said he hopes to be re-elected so he can see the completion of those projects.

“I’m just so heavily engaged with the lagoons and its ongoing discussion and what the end resolve will be,” said Watts. 10<sup>th</sup> West, the hydros in the canyon, and 2<sup>nd</sup> East are other ongoing projects. He said, “I just decided to stay engaged and see if I can be elected for one more term.”

Watts said Logan City’s financial standing is one of his greatest accomplishments as Mayor.  “The overall health of the city, where we are at now, and what the future looks like for this city is very bright,” said Watts.

Watts is also pleased with the completion of the culinary water lines from Logan Canyon, into the reservoirs above the golf course.  The Boulevard project and trail systems have also been completed he has served as Mayor.

Watts was elected Mayor of Logan on November 8, 2005 and took office January 3, 2006. He was re-elected and began his second term in January 2010.

Watts said he could have waited till later to make the announcement, but felt if he was really going to do it, he needed to make his intentions known.  “I still feel excited and engaged in getting things accomplished for the best city in the count
