WELLSVILLE – It is one of the most popular events of the spring season: Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville. The center’s program director, Chris Schultz, said Baby Animal Days opens Thursday, April 4 and continues through Saturday, April 6 and the hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Schultz says people better come early to get a good spot in line for his personal favorite–the baby bears are back again.
“They are kind of the biggest attraction,” Schultz explained on KVNU’s Crosstalk program. “We are grateful for USU Charter Credit Union for providing that experience for us.”
Schultz said the bears will be on loan again from Yellowstone Bear World and always draw a lot of attention.
“The people from Bear World near Rexburg come down. They usually bring four or five brand new baby bears. Normally you can’t hold them, touch them but can view them from a distance.”
But Schultz said there will be a petting zoo where children can hold and touch and cuddle such animals as lambs, ducks, chicks, piglets, calves, goats and rabbits.
