LCPD Chief Jensen to address the community

LOGAN— “Consistently inconsistent.”

That’s the phrase Logan City Police Chief Gary Jensen uses to describe the way his officers have been responding in the wake of numerous scenarios involving criminal acts. Friday, Jensen will make a presentation at the Logan Tabernacle as part of the Tabernacle Concert and Lecture Series.

The program starts at 7 p.m., it’s free to the public, and everyone is invited. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Jensen said although Cache Valley is a safe community, safety cannot be taken for granted.

“We don’t want to be a group of people that you know at 11:30 are out to lunch, or at 11:30 we leave the school and there is nobody present in that school at that point – we don’t want to be predictable like that. We want to have officers in and about our community and in and about our schools, and those places that once again potentially could have an issue, and we want our officers to be present and visible and portray the safety of this community that we all enjoy.”

Jensen will show a short video that will illustrate the points he wants to encourage. He also said much of the time will be given for questions and answers.
