Watts: better air quality will take compromises from everyone

LOGAN - Logan City is in good shape financially and otherwise according to Mayor Randy Watts. But, he says there is one area he would really like to see improved. On KVNU’s For the People program last week, Watts said if he could wave a magic wand and see one problem resolved it would definitely be air quality.

“I’m inundated with calls and I understand (the) frustration,” Watts said. “We’re a spoiled society, we really are when you look at the world.

“I don’t know. To make it happen it has to be a compromise from every individual who climbs in a car. Choices, choices, choices.”

The Mayor said he has been asked to chair a newly-organized air quality task force. It will not replace what the county is doing to improve air quality but to reinforce what they are doing and to explore other ways to help improve the situation.
