Utah looking to incentivize drivers to improve air quality

LOGAN— State Representative Jack Draxler said the Republican Caucus is looking for ways to improve air quality in Utah. Draxler said he has filed a bill that would do just that.

“It will allow up to a $2,500 income tax credit for buying a natural gas vehicle made at the factory, or a natural gas converted vehicle – if those conversions are done up to a certain standard. It will also cover hybrids and all-electric vehicles like the Volt and the Leaf,” Draxler said.

He also said it is a multi-faceted, long-term approach. He said residents need to use every tool they can in order to reduce emissions.
