A Harley-Davidson motorcycle seized from former Olympic wrestler Rulon Gardner is going up for auction.
Officials say Gardner used the Harley as collateral for unpaid loans. The 300-pound wrestler is letting it go even as he fights a bankruptcy auction of some of his other valuable belongings. They were seized by Cache County sheriff’s deputies months ago to satisfy a business debt.
The Harley will go up for sale Saturday at the Salt Lake City auction house Erkelens & Olson.
The 2001 Road King sports a Sydney Olympic logo. It was autographed by William Godfrey Davidson, grandson of Harley Davidson.
Gardner disputes a $3 million bankruptcy debt. He blames it on a business associate’s fraudulent real-estate scheme.
Bankruptcy trustee David Miller says the case remains under negotiation.
