The Utah National Guard will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the recently-remodeled armory in Logan on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. The armory is located between Willow Park and the Cache County Fairgrounds at 590 South 500 West in Logan.
The <a href=”http://www.ut.ngb.army.mil/html/facility.aspx?Facility=facilities/Armories%20and%20Readiness%20Centers/Logan” target=”_blank”>Logan Armory</a> originally opened in 1969 and is home to Alpha Battery, 145th Field Artillery and Delta Company, and 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion.
Improvements to the facility took approximately a year to complete at a cost of $1.1 million. Remodeling projects included new paint, carpet, floor and ceiling tile, landscaping, new electrical wiring, heating and cooling systems upgrades, lighting and energy-efficient improvements that will reduce electricity costs by 20 percent, new doors and windows, and communication and data-system infrastructure improvements.
