The Logan City Police Department played a key role in the pursuit and capture of a suspect Tuesday night that extended from Ogden to Logan. According to a press release, the suspect was being sought in connection with a shooting incident in Ogden and led officers on a chase through Logan City.
Various police agencies were involved in a high speed pursuit of the suspect starting in Ogden. In his attempt to flee, the suspect led police to the Logan area. Twice the suspect drove over spike strips, deflating the vehicle’s tires.
Once the suspect reached Logan the suspect was driving on metal rims. Police located the suspect on a side street but he refused to stop his vehicle. The suspect left a trail of scars in the pavement surface which allowed Logan Police to follow his trail.
The suspect was located again, only this time the vehicle was stuck in a driveway of a vacant residence. Officers ordered the suspect out of the building but he refused numerous commands.
A K-9 unit was being prepared to be deployed to get the suspect out of the building but the suspect surrendered before the dog was sent in. The suspect had injuries consistent with the shooting incident in Ogden and paramedics were called in to give the suspect aid. The suspect was then transported to Logan Regional Hospital.
The suspect’s name and age have not yet been released.
