Multicultural Center of Cache Valley in dire straights

LOGAN— There is bad news from the Multicultural Center of Cache Valley which has been serving the community over the last 20 years – the Multicultural Center is broke. Board Chairman Blaise Chanson said a fundraising drive, partnered with USU Charter Credit Union, met with very little financial success.

Chanson said he is proud of the job the center has done in assisting minority communities in Cache Valley. In a final appeal, Chanson hopes individuals and businesses with the means to help keep the Multicultural Center viable to come forward by the end of this month.

“We have a donation total of approximately $3,000. We need approximately a total of $27,000 to remain viable. It does not look like we’re going to be able to meet that goal. Without meeting that goal, we are going to have to close our doors. It would look like our doors will close this coming month.”
