UDOT Region One road construction report for October 19-25

<strong>Ogden–</strong> The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises motorists of the following road construction and maintenance activities that may cause traffic impacts in the state’s Northern Region:

<strong>Davis County</strong>

<strong>North Salt Lake</strong>

Oct 19: Crews will be completing work on a pavement repair project on northbound I-15 at milepost 313 in North Salt Lake on Friday night, October 19. A single traffic lane closure will occur at 7 p.m., with a double lane closure occurring at 9 p.m., followed by a triple lane closure at 11 p.m. This final closure could remain in place until 5 a.m. Saturday, October 20. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., traffic congestion is expected to be heavy, so motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as I-215 or US-89 north bound.

Oct 20: Crews will be completing work on a pavement repair project on northbound I-15 at milepost 313 in North Salt Lake on Saturday night, October 20. A single traffic lane closure will occur at 7 p.m., and last for up to two hours.  Traffic congestion is expected to be moderate, so motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as I-215 or US-89 north bound.

Oct 22: Crews will be completing work on a pavement repair project on northbound I-15 at milepost 313 in North Salt Lake on Monday night, October 22.  A double traffic lane closure will happen at 10 p.m., followed by a triple lane closure at 11 p.m.  This closure could remain in place until 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 23. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., traffic congestion is expected to be heavy, so motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as I-215 or US-89 north bound.

Oct 23: Crews will be completing work on a pavement repair project on northbound I-15 at milepost 313 in North Salt Lake on Tuesday night, October 23. A double traffic lane closure will happen at 10 p.m., followed by a triple lane closure at 11 p.m.  This closure could remain in place until 5 a.m. Wednesday, October 24.  From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., traffic congestion is expected to be heavy, so motorists with time-sensitive travel are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as I-215 or US-89 north bound.

<strong>Weber County</strong>

<strong>Ogden</strong>

Oct 19: Crews will conduct a pavement repair project on the I-15 northbound off-ramp at 12th Street (SR-39), from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday October 19.  Lanes will be open, but may be restricted during this short duration project.  Motorists should reduce speed and be prepared to stop at any time.

Hot Springs

Oct 19: Crews will conduct a pavement repair project on the I-15 southbound on-ramp from SR-126 at the South Willard Interchange, from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Friday October 19. Lanes will be open, but may be restricted during this short duration project.  Motorists should reduce speed and be prepared to stop at any time.

<strong>Riverdale</strong>

Oct 19-25: Work is underway on a project to rehabilitate the concrete surface of south-bound Interstate 15, between I-84 (Exit 340) in Riverdale and 200 South in Clearfield. Crews are now working in the northbound lanes, with crews cutting out worn sections of pavement and replacing them with prefabricated ones. This activity will require crews to take two lanes during off-peak nighttime hours from Sunday to Thursday 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Friday 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. and Saturday 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Motorists should be aware of trucks hauling material in and out of the construction zone. Local residents will experience some nighttime construction related noise and vibrations. Oct 19-25: Crews will finishing a project to replace the roadway surface of the I-84 bridge over 4400 South in Riverdale. The work will involve the removal of the present roadway and deck surface between milepost 81 and 82, and its replacement with a new surface. This work is expected to take approximately 5 more days to complete. Crews will work Saturday through Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.  Flaggers will be present on 4400 South to direct traffic movements on the street passing under this work.  One lane will remain open at all times, and motorists are encouraged to move into the open lane as soon as they see signs indicating that the lane ahead is closed. Additionally, due to narrow lanes wide loads over 11 feet will also be restricted within the construction zone. <strong>South Ogden</strong>

Oct 19-25: A signal upgrade is being performed at the intersection of Harrison Boulevard (SR-203) and 5600 South in South Ogden. While most of this work will be conducted off of the roadway, crews may occasionally close or restrict lanes to conduct portions of this upgrade work. Motorists should be alert of workers or equipment adjacent to open lanes of traffic.  This project is expected to be complete by November 2.

<strong>Eden</strong>

Oct 19-25: Work is proceeding on project to add safety improvements to SR-158, from Pine View Dam to milepost 8.1. Shoulder work continues at the new intersection at 2200 North and SR-158 as crews finish work there. Drivers should use caution and anticipate possible delays. Paving work at the North Fork Bridge underway and drivers can anticipate possible delays and see one-lane restrictions in the area for one more week. Temporary lane restrictions will also be in place along SR-158 as crews perform remaining minor work at Willow Brook Lane and Moose Hollow Drive. More extensive work, including road widening and road excavation, continues at the Elkhorn Drive and Fairways Drive intersections. The roadway will be reduced to one lane where intersection work is taking place. Please consider using alternate routes if your travel is time-sensitive. <strong>Cache County</strong>

<strong>Logan</strong>

Oct 19-25: As part of Phase II of the Tenth West Project (SR-252), crews are beginning work to lay temporary pavement on the east side of 1000 West between 200 North and 1700 North. As a result, the shoulders of 1000 West will be restricted in this area.  This work is expected to last approximately 2 more weeks. While there will be few traffic impacts during this work, motorists should be alert for construction vehicles operating adjacent to the open lanes of traffic, and pulling in and out of open lanes.

Oct 19: Due to manhole repairs, the east side of the intersection at 200 South and 1000 West will be closed Friday, October 19, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Please use alternate routes.

Oct 19-25: Crews are making minor adjustments to the Logan River Bridge on 1000 West (SR-252). Motorists should expect to see crews working on the bridge intermittently over the next few weeks. Lane shifts are in place, so motorists should stay within the barrels indicating the lane of travel.

Oct 19-25: Utility work is being completed on the Tenth West Project (SR-252) by a variety of utility companies in anticipation of construction work this fall and next year. Questar Gas has begun to relocate gas lines between 300 and 1800 North. Logan City Light and Power is also relocating power poles to the east side of the roadway between 400 North and 1400 North. Finally, both Comcast and CenturyLink will be updating infrastructure along 2500 North along the North side of the road. Utility work is being conducted Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m., with occasional night work possible. <strong>Logan Canyon</strong>

Oct 19-25: Trail construction may cause access and traffic impacts on US-89 along the Logan Canyon Trail, near the Stokes Nature Center for the next 71 days. The south east parking lot to the Logan Canyon Trail will also be closed during this work. Additionally, there may also be occasional trail and lane restrictions on US-89. <strong>Morgan County</strong>

<strong>Mountain Green to Morgan</strong>

Oct 19-25: Work is nearly complete on the reconstruction of I-84, from Mountain Green (SR-167) to Morgan (SR-66). Crews are now completing a variety of punch list items along the roadway, necessitating occasional lane closures throughout the corridor. Additionally, all wide load restrictions on I-84 in this area have been removed.
