Pine View proves too fast, too strong for Bear River, 38-21

Pine View proved to be too fast and too strong for Bear River as the Panthers routed the Bears 38-21 in a non-region game at Snow College. The Panthers got off to a hot start jumping out to a 19-8 lead which they kept until the 2nd half.

After a Bears score and another Pine View touchdown, making it 26-14, the Bears made a game of it. Bear River picked off a pass and the offense cashed it in. Just like that it was 26-21 with 8 minutes left.

The Bears had their chances to take the lead but kept giving the ball back to the Panthers. Pine View tacked on a touchdown after a Bears fumble (they had seven in the game) and put the nail in the coffin when Pine View picked off a Zundel pass returning it to the house capping off the scoring.

The Bears will now bring their attention back to region play as they will face Tooele in their final home game next Wednesday at 7 p.m. A win will lock up a third seed for the Bears for the 3A State playoffs.
