SMITHFIELD— The Sky View volleyball team continued its dominance in Region 5 Thursday night with a 3-0 win over the Roy Royals as they controlled the momentum throughout the game. The win gives the Bobcats an 11 game win streak and a 16-1 record with only four games left in region.
“We need to tighten up and be a better blocking team and make sure we can convert defense into good offense,” SV head coach Malayna Knowles said.
The Bobcats came out strong in the first set, storming to an 8-3 lead. They continued with little fight from the Royals to win the set 25-9.
“We did well playing our own game, not going on long point deficits,” Taylor Duryea said. “Our offense was really good tonight.”
In the second set the Royals took a 4-2 lead, but the Bobcats rallied back to take a 13-5 lead. From there it was all Sky View as they ended the set with a 25-12 win.
The third set was the same story as Sky View took a 14-3 lead. Roy then went on a run of its own, trimming the lead down to seven points. Sky View regrouped and finished off the Royals with 25-12 set win. Up next for Sky View is the (8-9) Bonneville Lakers Tuesday at Bonneville High School.
