Police make drug arrest in Nibley, recover stolen property

Police arrested a Nibley man Thursday night after finding a large stash of drugs and stolen property at his home.

Police and Sheriff Deputies along with the Cache Rich Drug Task Force served a warrant to the Nibley residence near 2800 South Main.  Inside the home, they found eight to ten pounds of marijuana, 6 ounces of crystal meth, cocaine and illegal mushrooms.  They also found a cargo trailer, snowmobile, and other fire-fighting equipment that was stolen last month from the Logan Forest Service complex.

30 year old Thomas MacElwee of Nibley was arrested on multiple felony charges.  A warrant was also issued for Michael Keller a former resident of Hyde Park.  He was arrested late last night in Eugene Oregon. He is now being held for extradition back to Utah.

Investigators believe Michael Keller stole the trailer, snowmobile and fire-fighting equipment on August 20th from the Logan Forest Service Complex where he was previously employed.
