Bear River started the 2012 season on the right foot with a 27-12 victory over the North Sanpete Hawks Friday night. The Bears scored in every quarter except the fourth and rushed for 248 yards on the ground with the most coming from quarterback Kyle Zundel.
North Sanpete was poisoned by the penalty bug, and it got them bad during a spurt in the second quarter when they were flagged five plays in a row. The Bears take their confident swagger to Preston next Friday night at 7 p.m. Catch the Bears on 104.9 FM and on kix96fm.com.
