Mayor’s Art Show a new addition to Nibley Heritage Days

Once again Nibley City is celebrating Heritage Days and events begin Monday, June 18 with a Children’s Bike Parade and continuing through Saturday, June 23 when a parade, carnival and movie in the park will be held.

In between there are many other activities including a children’s play “Over the Rainbow” Thursday and Friday.

Nibley Mayor Gerald Knight says a new event has been added this year and it is the first annual Mayor’s Art Show and Contest.

“We’ve had a very good participation in that,” Knight says. “I think we’ve got nearly 100 entries and we wanted to highlight some of the local, professional artists as well as the amateur, up-and-coming artists.”

He says prior to the children’s play on Friday a free Mayor’s Dinner will be served to all Nibley residents in the Old City Park. The time is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
