New traffic signal in Providence activated

The Utah Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the recently-constructed traffic signal at 1700 South and State Road 165 in Providence is being activated Wednesday. UDPT spokesman Vic Saunders says work to activate the signal was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and once the power is connected and the signal controller is found to be performing nominally the covers will be removed and the intersection will be operational.

Saunders says with work on the signal complete, motorists should reduce speeds and approach the intersection of 1700 South and State Road 165 cautiously until they become accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
