Brigham City woman suffers injuries in Blacksmith Fork Canyon motorcycle crash

A 47-year old Brigham City woman driving a motorcycle down Blacksmith Fork Canyon Sunday afternoon failed to make a turn and crashed into an embankment. Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Jason Kendrick says Laurie McMullin was ejected from the bike while it crashed and burst into flames.

Kendrick says passers-by came upon the accident and saw McMullin unconscious and the motorcycle burning a swath of grass and brush on the mountainside. Sgt. Kendrick says McMullin sustained lacerations, bruises and possible broken bones.

McMullin wasn’t wearing a helmet and was dressed in a tank top and shorts. She was taken by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital. Kendrick says fire personnel from Logan and Cache County were called and quickly extinguished the flames.
