Weber County businessman Ryan Combe is hoping to be the challenger to incumbent Republican First District Congressman Rob Bishop in the November election. But first he must defeat West Point
graduate and military veteran Donna McAleer in the June 26 Democratic primary.
There will be a debate between Combe and McAleer on KVNU’s For the People program on June 14. Wednesday night Combe told KVNU’s Harry Caines what he feels is the biggest issue in the campaign and he said it’s the Paul Ryan Budget.
“We’re having a choice of how we’re going to proceed in this country,” Combe said, “and one way is to say we are going to invest our money wisely so that we’ll get a return on our investment in the future.
“When I say invest money I’m talking about investing in education, investing health care, investing in these programs that keep people out of prison, that help keep people in jobs, good paying jobs and paying taxes.”
Combe says the Ryan budget is the first issue he wants to debate with Rob Bishop if he is successful in the primary.
